Although we are a full in-house card printing bureau, many of our clients prefer for us to develop a full magnetic card start-up system for them. This is a list of questions that anyone wishing to purchase a start-up system needs to ask:

• Is it necessary to do this in-house or would you prefer a printing bureau?

This is something worth considering. A printing bureau would provide a full range of services, saving you time and making things much easier. However, if you would prefer the freedom of creating your own id cards then our in-house setup is for you.

• How many cards do you need to produce per annum?

The volume of cards that you need to produce per annum should be a major consideration when assessing the viability of a start up package

• What needs to go on the cards? 

What sort of information do you need to go on the cards? Be wary of including too much as this could pose a security risk.

• Where will you store your information?

Do you have the resources to prepare an adequate database for all the information that you will be storing?

• What services should be on the card? ( Magnetic strips; Barcodes; Signature Panels; etc)

Do the cards need magnetic strips, barcode printing or proximity detection? The amount of security features that the cards require could make them more difficult to produce.

Once you have carefully evaluated your business and its needs, you will be able to make an informed decision regarding your id card and magnetic card needs.
